Job Purpose and Impact
The Software Engineer maintains and partners to design development and maintainenance of Automation and AI solutions including ChatGPT-powered copilots and bespoke LLM services in accordance with our AI COE platform standards and guidelines. With limited supervision deliverables span REST services vector-search back end LLMOps & AgentOps pipelines and rich front-end components for knowledge workers and plant operators. This role will work primarily within our Food NA Digital Technology and Data team and assist with solutions for our technology stack servicing our Food North America Supply Chain this role youll have a strong partnership with the business Product Owner with an emphasis on translating product requirements into secure efficient and observable services or agents manage the lifecycle from experiment to production; and continually improve reliability latency and cost. You will work as part of a product team to ensure the digital products outputs of the team maximize value and drive efficiency consistency and digitally connected experiences for commercial teams and customers. Expect to collaborate outside of the product team with other product managers AI Center of excellence cloud engineers and security teams across the digital and technology and data ecosystem.

Key Accountabilities
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT:
- Develop multi-agent workflow automation patterns using Agentic AI
- Process redesign and mapping to agentic workflow patterns
- Aid in architecting scalable micro-services that wrap LLM/RAG/Agent workflows (Python).
- Implement robust prompt-engineering patterns retrieval pipelines and caching for AI Assistants and AI Agents
- Profile inference latency GPU/CPU utilization and memory
- Writes and maintains complex unit tests and integration tests and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software/AI solutions
- Lead bug-fix security-patch and performance-tuning for live AI Assistants and AI Agents
- Contributes to creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for agents applications deployment processes and system configurations.
AUTOMATION:
- Applies internal software deployment platform methodologies and tools to automate the deployment process ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
COLLABORATION:
- Gathers requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Experience working within product and agile delivery frameworks including backlog management and cross-functionality delivery and full E2E engineering.
- Experience with enterprise architecture data governance or security standards in the context of digital solution deliveryas part of E2E engineering and solution architecture.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
- Makes suggestions for improving the software development and deployment processes and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability.
CAPABILITY & TECHNOLOGY STACK EXPOSURE:
- Experience with digital technologies in the supply chain space
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.
- Experince with one or more of the following technologies:
- React/Typescript/UIs
- Java Spring Boot/ Python / APIs
- PostgreSQL
- CI/CD pipelines
- AWS Cloud Services
Short Description
- The expected salary for this position is $80000-$115000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location certifications education and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
