Rome Health is seeking a full-time Ambulatory Medical Assistant
Performs administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of an authorized health care provider (ie physician nurse) in a acute care hospital setting. The Ambulatory Surgery Medical Assistant serves primarily as a patient advocate and care coordinator ensuring a seamless perioperative experience for both patient and family; this includes organizing surgical chart scheduling necessary testing reviewing the surgical chart for completeness accessing outside records through the regional health information organization (RHIOS) and settling the patient for surgery including vital signs and surgical site preparation. The Ambulatory Surgery Medical Assistant serves as a point of contact for physicians patients caregivers and medical institutions to provide resources and assistance in accessing perioperative services and to assist all parties in overcoming barriers within the healthcare system. The Ambulatory Surgery Medical Assistant is responsible for clinical duties such as but not limited to phlebotomy draws EKG exams and microbiology swab collection.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Prior Experiencein working in a hospital or medical office.
