We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager - Processing.

The incumbent will be working in the Payables & Receivables department under Markets Securities Services Operations. He/She will be involved with different activities in both running and changing the Bank reporting directly to the Manager for Operations and with very close coordination with the Assistant Vice President for Operations and staff of different levels from the service provider and the Fees & Billing Utility team.

The jobholder will primarily focus on Structured Equity Derivatives Brokerage but will also be heavily involved with activities relevant to all the balance sheets in scope of Payables & Receivables both in the current and future state

The Opportunity:

The role incumbent is responsible for supporting various activities within Payables & Receivables. This includes the following (but not limited to):

  • Processing of invoices related to Structured Equity Derivatives (SED) Brokerage ensuring timeliness and accuracy of submissions while adhering to the control requirements.
  • Reporting and escalation of issues encountered during validation of brokerage invoices such as but not limited to broker-onboarding broker-rate discrepancies and fee variances.
  • Engaging in discussions with the wider Fees & Billing Utility team to raise record and agree resolution on exceptions and issues.
  • Daily CLEAR attestation to ensure all tasks under the incumbents remit are delivered within acceptable timelines.
  • Actively participating in change projects to help the Bank achieve its strategic plans for the Brokerage process

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • To ensure accurate calculation of brokerage commission fees and trades reconciliation
  • To ensure that exceptions are identified and escalated in accordance with procedures in a timely manner.
  • To understand and comply with all relevant policies and procedures issued by the Group and contained within the Group relevant Functional Instruction Manuals Operating Instructions Books and Process Guides.
  • To be aware of the Operational Risk scenarios associated with the role and to ensure that all actions take into account of the likelihood of operational risks occurring.
  • To acquire and update knowledge on procedures related to relevant processes.
  • To ensure that work is completed in accordance with established procedures and standards
  • To identify and immediately escalate potential showstoppers.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • A clear sense of what they want to achieve in their career i.e. how MSS and this particular role fits in their longer term career.
  • An ability to analyze complex processes and identify root causes.
  • An above-average desire to learn and that development opportunities are of both a vertical and a lateral nature.
  • Control oriented; should have a good understanding of the function of controls.

  • A strong desire for high performance and has a demonstrable ability to do so.
  • A clear appreciation of the level of pressure in this role and is up for the challenge.
  • An interest in joining a truly global process with the ability to manage relationships across different cultures.
  • Is interested in developing a long term career with investment banking.
  • Minimum graduate in accounting business finance or equivalent desired but not essential.
  • Proficient in MS Excel Office with special focus on the usage of MS Office Excel and MS Office Access.
  • Excellent English written and spoken hard-working organized diligent and above all a team player.

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.

Due to the urgent hiring need candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation need will be prioritised.
