About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Manufacturing Shop Scheduler to support a fast-growing machine shop this role you will be responsible for production planning capacity management and scheduling across multiple manufacturing operations. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient workflow on-time delivery and optimal use of shop resources.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting is comfortable on the shop floor and enjoys solving complex scheduling and planning challenges using data systems and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage production schedules for machining assembly balancing inspection and shipment activities
  • Coordinate workflow across departments based on manufacturing sequences lead times and priorities
  • Perform capacity planning to ensure feasible and achievable production schedules
  • Create release and maintain work orders in the ERP system (including rescheduling as priorities change)
  • Maintain and improve ERP system parameters templates and planning processes
  • Monitor production progress backlog material availability and shop floor status
  • Run daily and weekly production reports to identify constraints shortages and delays
  • Support production forecasting and KPI reporting for operational decision-making
  • Participate in job planning and cross-functional scheduling meetings
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and operations teams to resolve production issues
  • Analyze production data to support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing production planning or machine shop environments
  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling shop floor flow and capacity planning
  • Experience working with ERP systems (JobBOSS preferred; training available)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite (Intermediate level or higher)
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience in job shop or Engineer-to-Order environments preferred
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Additional Requirements

  • Full-time role (40 hours/week); occasional evenings or weekends may be required
  • Limited travel (<15%)
  • Ability to work on-site in a machine shop environment with moderate noise and moving equipment
  • Ability to stand walk and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to communicate in English
