We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Manufacturing Shop Scheduler to support a fast-growing machine shop this role you will be responsible for production planning capacity management and scheduling across multiple manufacturing operations. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient workflow on-time delivery and optimal use of shop resources.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting is comfortable on the shop floor and enjoys solving complex scheduling and planning challenges using data systems and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage production schedules for machining assembly balancing inspection and shipment activities
Coordinate workflow across departments based on manufacturing sequences lead times and priorities
Perform capacity planning to ensure feasible and achievable production schedules
Create release and maintain work orders in the ERP system (including rescheduling as priorities change)
Maintain and improve ERP system parameters templates and planning processes
Monitor production progress backlog material availability and shop floor status
Run daily and weekly production reports to identify constraints shortages and delays
Support production forecasting and KPI reporting for operational decision-making
Participate in job planning and cross-functional scheduling meetings
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and operations teams to resolve production issues
Analyze production data to support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Required Qualifications
5 years of experience in manufacturing production planning or machine shop environments
Strong knowledge of production scheduling shop floor flow and capacity planning
Experience working with ERP systems (JobBOSS preferred; training available)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite (Intermediate level or higher)
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
Experience in job shop or Engineer-to-Order environments preferred
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Additional Requirements
Full-time role (40 hours/week); occasional evenings or weekends may be required
Limited travel (<15%)
Ability to work on-site in a machine shop environment with moderate noise and moving equipment
Ability to stand walk and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs
Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to communicate in English
