Position Overview

The Trap/Skeet Technician II will secure and maintain a safe shooting line of fire for all shooting disciplines; ensure all range safety standards are enforced which includes: safety for staff loaders scorers competitors and audience; supervise and train loaders/scorers trap/skeet technician I target machine mechanics for the duration of the event; maintain and secure score cards and make final decisions according to association rules for scoring discrepancies and rule discrepancies during competitive events; assist with target setting on trap machines trap machine adjustments acquisition of employees; report directly to trap/skeet other duties at WSRC facility as assigned which are reasonably within scope of duties enumerated above.

Essential Functions

  • Secure and maint6ina safe shooting line and ensure range safety standards are enforced.
  • Supervise all staff and competitors on the trap/skeet firing line.
  • Make final decisions on discrepancies.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.
  • Must be knowledgeable with official governing body rules for trap/skeet shooting.
  • Must have served a minimum of 2 years in a team lead/supervisory role in shooting sports industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to operate simple equipment such as trap/skeet machines and UTVs.

Employment Conditions

All applicants must be able to meet the following Conditions of Employment with or without reasonable accommodation to be considered for this position.

  • Minimum age of 17 possessing a valid Drivers License.
  • Ability to be around Firearms.
  • Requires capability to lift carry and transport up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires physical condition and ability to perform position responsibilities which can include strenuous manual labor.
  • Requires ability to work most weekends with some nights or holidays for events.
  • Requires ability to work in all climates and weather conditions.
  • Requires ability to alter work schedule to meet the needs of the WSRC including long shifts up to 9-10 hours.
  • Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure criminal history.
