Summary
Join our Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) to help make shipboard life and habitability safe for our sailors! For over a century HII has built and maintained the U.S. Navys most powerful warships. Join us as we continue to maintain the Navys readiness. Acting as the Production Planning Scheduler 1 Manager this position isresponsiblefor planning preparing and maintenance scheduling for day-to-day work onboard U.S Navy Aircraft Carriers HM&E engineering systems. This is a full time position located in Norfolk VA.
*Must have a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Badge or Common Access Card (CAC)to start.
What You Will Do
- Plan prepareand maintenance scheduling for day-to-day work onboard U.S Navy Aircraft Carriers HM&E engineering systems.
- Advises management of the status of work in progress material availability and potential production problems to ensure that personnel equipment materials and services are provided as needed.
- Schedules equipment and personnel confirms material supply and demands prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule shop load and inventory requirements.
- Controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
- Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance manufacturing purchasing engineering inventory control traffic etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8years relevant progressive experience.
- Strong communication skills and experience with planning and network scheduling techniques.
- Must have knowledge of MS Office and other software with experience with Naval shipbuilding and maintenance processes and procedures.
- Must have experience with Navys Maintenance Material Management (3M) supply systems.
- Working familiarity and general knowledge of quality assurance program practices and principles.
- Prior experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base access.
Preferred Requirements
- A current valid DoD Confidential security clearance or higher.
- Previous experience as a Work Center Supervisor in the US Navy is preferred.
- Previous experience working with US Navy Aircraft Carrier HM&E engineering systems is preferred.
