Job Summary**
Airbus Defence and Space SAU is seeking an Electrical & Lighting System Design Office Engineer with strong simulation skills to contribute to the design development and integration of electrical and lighting systems for advanced aerospace platforms. This role involves conceptual design detailed engineering analysis and verification using simulation tools.
Job Responsibilities**
* Design and develop electrical power distribution systems wiring harnesses and lighting systems for various aerospace applications adhering to industry standards and company specifications.
* Perform detailed electrical load analysis power budget calculations and fault tree analysis to ensure system integrity and reliability.
* Utilize advanced simulation software (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink SPICE PLECS CATIA V5/V6 Electrical) to model analyze and optimize electrical and lighting system performance including transient behavior power quality and thermal effects.
* Generate electrical schematics wiring diagrams harness designs and detailed component specifications.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical design avionics software and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration of electrical and lighting systems.
* Support the definition of test procedures and participate in the testing and validation of electrical and lighting systems both in simulation and on physical prototypes.
* Identify and resolve technical issues and discrepancies during the design development and integration phases.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of electrical design processes tools and methodologies.
* Prepare technical documentation reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience (typically 4 years) in electrical system design and development preferably within the aerospace or defense industry.
* Demonstrated proficiency in electrical design tools and software including CAD tools for schematics and harness design (e.g. CATIA V5/V6 Electrical SEE Electrical).
* Strong expertise in electrical simulation software (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink SPICE PLECS or similar) for power electronics circuit analysis or system-level simulation.
* Solid understanding of aerospace electrical standards regulations and best practices (e.g. MIL-STD RTCA DO-160 ARP).
* Experience with lighting system design principles including photometric analysis and control systems is a plus.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and communicate complex technical information clearly.
* Strong analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
* Fluent in English both written and spoken. Spanish language skills are a plus.
