Your role:
Responding to complex after hours matters supporting our 30 residential units foster carers and any other person needing support.
You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have practical experience dealing with young people in the out of home care sector in a social work/youth work/community services based organisation dealing with complex trauma based behaviours.
The is an outreach role providing hands on services to colleagues carers and our young people where additional support is required. This includes in times of crisis providing additional staffing support in our residential youth houses supporting young people out of hours with transport Police or medical matters. You need to be able to make complex decisions offer expert advice problem solve and support staff and carers putting your expertise to use in a hands-on capacity.
This role is based out of one of our residential youth houses in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne however will likely involve work supporting clients and colleagues in a number of different locations across the East and Southern suburbs of Melbourne. The role may also include working across regions in Melbournes North and West and completing stand-up shifts where we have staff cancellations or inability to fill overnight shifts at residential houses.
About you
- Experience is key you are making tough decisions and support programs during difficult times
- Previous experience working with young people of all ages
- Experience working with young people who have or are experiencing self harming mental health issues or substance dependency/misuse
- Calm and resilient
- The ability to work effectively with a team to achieve program goals and objectives

- A high hourlypay at SCAHDS level 5 with penalty rates for after hours work
- Part time rostered work 23 hours per week.
