Sweetwater Propane is a small locally owned faith-based company providing reliable propane service across southern Pennsylvania and the Finger Lakes region of New York. With a focus on integrity respect and community the team values its people and works to make a meaningful impact every day.
What Youll Do as a Diesel Truck Mechanic:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and fleet vehicles.
- Diagnose & fix mechanical electrical and hydraulic issues.
- Repair engines brakes fuel systems and related components.
- Complete DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Keep accurate service and repair records.
- Work with management and vendors to prioritize repairs and keep the fleet running.
- Assist with out-of-gas service calls as needed.
Our Ideal Diesel Truck Mechanic:
- Experienced: 3-5 years of diesel mechanic/technician experience required; strong knowledge of diesel engines truck systems and diagnostics required; experience with preventative maintenance programs preferred; CDL Class A and Hazmat Tanker and Air Brake endorsements preferred.
- Safety-focused & Team-oriented: Works safely follows procedures communicates clearly and works well with others to keep operations running smoothly.
- Problem-solver: Diagnoses issues effectively thinks ahead and maintains accuracy in repairs and maintenance.
- Independent: Takes initiative stays ahead of potential issues and manages work without constant oversight.
- Tech-capable: Basic computer skills for tracking service and completing documentation.
- Active: Able to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in both shop and outdoor environments; able to stand bend kneel and work for extended periods.
What We Offer Our Diesel Truck Mechanic:
- Full-time position Monday-Friday 11:00 AM-7:00 PM with occasional Saturdays
- $30-$35/hour depending on experience
- Health dental & vision insurance
- Paid time off & paid holidays
