Shift: Day Shift 3x12 Hours (07:00 AM 07:00 PM)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a dynamic healthcare team in an acute care setting. This role involves delivering high-quality respiratory care with minimal supervision ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess treat and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
- Administer oxygen therapy aerosol medications and other respiratory treatments
- Operate and manage ventilators and life-support equipment
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results
- Respond promptly to emergency situations including code blue events
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
- Accurately document patient care in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ensure proper maintenance calibration and sanitation of respiratory equipment
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Valid New York State Respiratory Therapist license
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associates or Bachelors degree)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required); ACLS preferred
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management and critical care protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-pressure healthcare environment
- Prior experience in acute care ICU or emergency settings preferred
