Software Developer Trading Systems

As a Software Developer youll play a critical role in building and maintaining one of Nasdaqs core systems powering trading at the heart of Nasdaq Stockholm.

Youll thrive in this position if youre detail-oriented collaborative and passionate about working on complex systems where precision and reliability are paramount. This is a long-term opportunity to grow deep expertise in financial technology alongside a stable experienced team.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the lifecycle of software application development with an emphasis on architecture design quality code reviews and implementation
• Develop and maintain backend systems that process real-time equity trades with ultra-low latency requirements.
• Write clean well-tested code and conduct thorough code reviews to ensure system reliability and quality.
• Collaborate with a small focused team of developers to deliver enhancements to critical trading infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues using data analysis scripting and network diagnostics.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions with a focus on scalability maintainability and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 23 years of experience in software development ideally in backend or systems programming.
• Proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix environments
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving in high-stakes environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of network protocols and ability to analyze network traffic (e.g. tcpdumps).
• Background in financial services capital markets or fintech.

This position will be located in Stockholm and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office subject to change providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
