Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments for the Nursing Assistant program at the Sylvania Campus. Candidates will be considered for providing instruction in lecture/lab and clinical settings.This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full term class assignments.

The Clinical Instructor scope of work:
Supervises instructs and evaluates nursing assistant students in a clinical setting. An instructor is assigned to a clinical site for 2 days or evenings a week/term. The instructor will supervise between 4 to 6 students at one time. Primary communication will be with the director of the Nursing Assistant program.
The Lecture/Lab Instructor scope of work:
Instructs and evaluates nursing assistant students in the lab setting. Primary communication will be with the director of the Nursing Assistant program.

There are two categories of instructors to be considered for hire:
1)Primary instructor:
Faculty serving as a primary instructor must:
Hold a current Oregon RN license
Have at least two years experience as an RN; and
Have evidence of completion of a course on teaching adults or one year of experience teaching adults
2)Clinical Instructors and Instructors for Lecture/Lab:
Faculty serving as an approved clinical teaching associate and/or lecture/lab instructor must:
Hold a current Oregon RN or LPN license; and
Have the equivalent of at least one year of experience as a licensed nurse

Clinical Requirements

Note Regarding Academic Credentials

Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard. Part-time Faculty Compensation at PCC
Newly hired Part-time Faculty at PCC will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule.
Hourly rates are determine based upon the type of course taught (Lecture Lab or Lecture/Lab).
