We have an exciting opportunity for aRecovery Coordinator - Smoking Cessation Specialist in our Non-Opiates Teamwho has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users. The post holder will ensure a high quality and consistent service to groups who traditionally and regularly find our services challenging to access; service users may have either drug and/or alcohol related issues and may have a co-morbidity or complexity of fulfilling their duties the post-holder will be expected to work with individuals to develop positive lifestyle changes and health choices. Promote harm reduction and personalised health promotion interventions to encourage people to access mainstream services within the community.
No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual so being flexible curious and a good listener are key.
Hours: Full time 37.5 per week
Location: Huddersfield
Contract Type: Permanent
Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
About the role:
- Ensure a MDT approach to caseload management to encourage lead agencies who are involved to actively supporting service users.
- Utilise home visits and community venues for one to one and group work sessions.
- To provide rapid and flexible interventions where required to meet the needs of the service users
- Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey
- Provide Very Brief Advice training to CGL staff and volunteers and local partner organisations Emerging Futures and Kirklees in Recovery
- Use a trauma informed approach to build engagement and support
- Engage with professionals and the wider community to increase understanding of the impacts of smoking on health and wellbeing.
- Provide support via 1:1 group drop in and telephone support to our clients wishing to become smoke free.
- Support the Team Lead to ensure service targets are achieved 1.6 Understanding and knowledgeable of the harmful effects associated with smoking. And the link between Smoking
About you:
- Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
- Experience of working with service users with a range of needs
such as mental health physical heath and criminal justice. - Be an excellent communicator both verbal and written with good IT skills
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions services and good practice
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals agencies and internal/external stakeholders
- An understanding and awareness of current national policies on smoking and the strategies that influence the priorities of stop smoking services.
- Experience of working within a Health and/or social care environment
