Our maternal-fetal medicine specialists partner with doctors and healthcare professionals from many fields of medicine at Cedars-Sinai to deliver the most specialized well-rounded care. We provide prenatal testing for both routine and high-risk pregnancies. Prenatal testing involves screening for problems with the pregnancy or baby and making any necessary diagnoses so treatment can begin as soon as possible.
Summary of Essential Duties:
- Provides direct & indirect patient care services such as: NSTs rooming patients administering medications performing phlebotomy and chaperoning sonographers and physicians
- Assists physicians in procedures (CVS AMNIO) coordinates patient scheduling during a holiday weekend or add-on NSTs
- Educates patients answers phone calls or inbox questions from patients
- Coordinates with Labor & Delivery for patient handoffs
- Communicates with nurses physicians and staff regarding patient care or scheduling.
- Gives patient information to charge nurse and nurses taking over care of a patient on the Labor & Delivery unit
- Utilizes computer to document on patients progress and ensure that all patients are being cared for in a timely manner
- Takes pride in documenting in real time or as soon as it is possible
- Communicates verbally with MDs if something is urgent or emergent
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
License/Certification:
- Current unrestricted California RN License required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support required
- American Heart Association PALS
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 years of acute care experience required
- Experience working in an ambulatory high risk obstetrical clinic environment preferred
