3x12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Compensation
Travel Rate: $30 $40/hour (based on experience)
Local Rate: $25 $30/hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
A reputable healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to support oral surgeons in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role involves assisting with complex procedures such as extractions dental implants bone grafting and IV sedation cases while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
Assist oral surgeons during procedures including extractions dental implants bone grafts and IV sedation cases
Prepare sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards
Monitor patients before during and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort
Take and process dental radiographs including panoramic and CBCT imaging (if certified)
Provide post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers
Support IV sedation and nitrous oxide setup and recovery under supervision
Manage surgical inventory and prepare procedure trays
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure efficient workflow
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Minimum 12 years of dental assisting experience
Prior experience in oral surgery procedures
Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with IV sedation and nitrous oxide
Familiarity with CBCT and panoramic imaging
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Certifications & Licensure
X-Ray Certification (required)
Dental Assistant Certification (preferred)
