Job Title: Oral Surgery Dental Assistant
Location: Fredericksburg VA
Job Type: Contract (Travel/Local)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule:

• Mid Shift: 1:00 PM 9:00 PM
• 3x12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week

Compensation

• Travel Rate: $30 $40/hour (based on experience)
• Local Rate: $25 $30/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

A reputable healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to support oral surgeons in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role involves assisting with complex procedures such as extractions dental implants bone grafting and IV sedation cases while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeons during procedures including extractions dental implants bone grafts and IV sedation cases
• Prepare sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards
• Monitor patients before during and after procedures to ensure safety and comfort
• Take and process dental radiographs including panoramic and CBCT imaging (if certified)
• Provide post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers
• Support IV sedation and nitrous oxide setup and recovery under supervision
• Manage surgical inventory and prepare procedure trays
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure efficient workflow

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum 12 years of dental assisting experience
• Prior experience in oral surgery procedures
• Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Excellent communication and patient care skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IV sedation and nitrous oxide
• Familiarity with CBCT and panoramic imaging
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Certifications & Licensure

• X-Ray Certification (required)
• Dental Assistant Certification (preferred)
