ChristianaCare is hiring a full-time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to work in our Vascular Surgery practice at our Christiana Hospital location. This is a hybrid position predominantly outpatient and periodically inpatient Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm with no weekend commitment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates preparation for patients planned for vascular surgery/procedures.
- Facilitates a strong consistent clinical presence in all phases of patient care.
- Reviews and retrieves data pertinent to patients medical history.
- Performs and records physical assessment in response to consult and collaborates with physicians and other members of the medical staff on plan of care.
- Screens patient to determine need for urgent medical attention.
- Performs consultations rounds on patients writes daily progress notes.
- Evaluates the need to make changes in patient therapy.
- Writes orders and modifies treatment plans.
- Prescribes medication with credentials provided by the Joint Practice Committee of the Delaware Board of Medical Practice.
- Provides education and instruction to patients regarding care.
- Plans appropriate discharge plans.
- Assesses medical needs pre and post procedures.
- Actively participates in other aspects of Vascular specialty care.
- Performs assigned work safely adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor in a timely manner any unsafe activities conditions hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself other employees patients and visitors.
- Performs other related duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters degree as a Acute Care Advance Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant
- Licensure or license eligible as an Acute Care Advanced Practice Nurseor Physician Assistant as set forth by the state of Delaware
- Prescriptive authority required in Delaware
- Certification in BLS
- Experience in specialty as an advanced practice clinician preferred but will consider new graduate with procedural and/or critical care background.

Annual Compensation Range $120255.00 - $147707.00
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCares good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills relevant experience and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
