Vestwells Summer Tech Internship Program
Now in its fifth year our Summer Internship Program is a 10-week experience (June 8 to August 10 2026) offering hands-on exposure within our AI Engineering and CyberSecurity teams. Interns will help design and build AI-powered solutions that improve how we serve customers and operate at scale.
Interns work on real projects alongside cross-functional teams contributing through research data analysis and execution on key initiatives. Each intern is supported by a manager and mentor with regular feedback and guidance. By the end of the program interns are expected to contribute to a defined deliverable operate independently within team workflows and build a strong understanding of Vestwells business.

Were looking for curious motivated individuals who want to learn and contribute in a fast-paced collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is proactive detail-oriented and comfortable working across teams.
You have a strong sense of ownership take initiative and are interested in fintech and improving how people save and plan for their future. Were especially excited about candidates interested in emerging technologies including AI who can identify opportunities to improve workflows and build practical solutions.
Through the program youll gain exposure across the business and contribute to work that drives real impact.
What Will You Be Doing
Day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Contribute to AI-powered feature development across the engineering stack
- Build and evaluate LLM-based workflows and integrations
- Write test and review code in Python TypeScript or a similar backend language
- Participate in daily stand-ups and collaborate within an agile team environment
- Document technical work and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
Requirements
The Necessities
- Rising or current seniors or recent graduates (including boot camps or similar programs)
- Based in or able to work in a hybrid capacity in New York City Austin or King of Prussia
- Available for the full 10-week program (June 8 to August 10 2026)
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python TypeScript or similar)
- Foundational understanding of software development principles and SDLC
- Familiarity with version control (Git)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Collaborative proactive and coachable working style
The Extras
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce HubSpot)
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Asana Jira Notion )
- Exposure to AI tools or workflow automation platforms (e.g. Claude Cowork)
- Prior internship work or relevant project experience
- Knowledge of financial services fintech or retirement industry concepts
- Hands-on experience with LLMs or AI frameworks (e.g. LangChain OpenAI APIs)
- Prior internship or project experience in software engineering
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS GCP or Azure)

Work Authorization and Visa Sponsorship
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the full duration of the internship without employer sponsorship now or in the future. This internship is in person at our offices in New York NY; Austin TX; or King of Prussia PA. We do not sponsor visas for this position and candidates who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be eligible for consideration.
Candidates on F-1 or J-1 visas must have valid work authorization that allows for full-time internship participation such as CPT OPT or J-1 Intern authorization through a designated sponsor (e.g. Cultural Vistas InterExchange Intrax or similar programs).
Employment is contingent upon verification of work authorization and completion of any applicable background checks in accordance with company policies and applicable law. Candidates requiring visa-based work authorization must provide complete and verifiable documentation confirming eligibility to work in the United States for the full duration of the program (June 8 to August 10 2026) prior to receiving an offer or beginning employment.

OUR PROCESS
It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1-2 conversations about Vestwell your experience and your interests. Next steps can vary by role but the usual next steps are a skill or experience screen (e.g. a coding interview for an Engineer a portfolio review for a Designer deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in-person interview panel after that if the screens go well.Before making an offer our interview process concludes with a references check stage for your recruiter to meet with a current or former supervisor and peer.We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.
