Job Summary

The Behavioral and Clinical Outcomes Research Program ( within the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders Research at Seattle Childrens Research Institute invites applicants for a postdoctoral position. Led by Dr. Kaitlyn Fladeboe PhD ( Taylor MD MS( our work focuses on identifying and addressing the psychosocial needs of children and adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer and their family members. This position will specifically focus on the study of biobehavioral (the intersection between biology physiology and psychosocial processes) aspects of AYA psycho-oncology.

Ideal candidates should have a PhD in a biological science discipline with expertise in basic and translational research skills. Candidates with a basic/translational background and research interests and experience in pediatric or AYA psychosocial oncology and/or behavioral interventions for pediatric populations are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Taylor and receive additional mentorship from Dr. Fladeboe to plan and supervise research projects write manuscripts and develop grant applications including an F32 or equivalent proposal. The ideal candidate will have strong publication record; methodological training including genomic quantitative and/or qualitative skills and knowledge of R or other analytic software; and the ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and establish rapport with patients and research participants.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate degree (PhD/DVM/MD) in specialty area from an accredited university training program.
  • Experience using basic research techniques of specialty area.

Compensation Range

$80172 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
