Your work environment at EXP
EXP is recruiting a BiologistinTraining based in our Burnaby BC office to contribute to a variety of environmental and biological projects.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Coordinating and completing field assessments and preparation of reports for a variety of environmental projects in the Lower Mainland and elsewhere in BC;
- Participating in or conducting field work in terrestrial aquatic - freshwater and marine settings (i.e. environmental monitoring fish and fish habitat assessments fish salvage water quality assessment and monitoring sediment quality assessment vegetation assessment and post-construction monitoring wildlife salvage and pre-construction surveys and Riparian Area Protection Regulation (RAPR) assessments);
- Completing aquatic wildlife waterbody vegetation and general ecological surveys;
- Assisting Senior Professional Biologists with the preparation of permit applications and reports to Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) and Forests Lands Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development (FLNRORD) for wildlife and fish salvage operations RAPR assessments of watercourses and for BC Water Sustainability Act (WSA) notifications and approvals for works in and about a stream in BC.
What your experience looks like
- Has 1-3 years of environmental consulting with field experience in British Columbia. Recent graduates will be considered;
- Has a degree in Biology (BSc.) from an accredited university;
- Has registered as a Biologist in Training (BIT) with the BC College of Applied Biology or is eligible for registration as a Biologist-in-Training;
- Has working knowledge and proficiency in the use of basic field navigation and survey equipment; such as maps GPS water quality meters etc.
- Has the ability to deal professionally and effectively with Clients and Co-workers.
- The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that has the ability to work effectively in a demanding and fast paced environment while working in the Burnaby office or hybrid;
- Must have a valid BC Class 5 drivers license;
- Has strong oral and written communication skills.

The base salary range for this role is between$52346 to $ actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and specific work location.
