Davenergy Solutions is currently seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer (Construction Management) to provide onsite Construction Facilities Management (CFM) support at the West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven CT. This role supports major renovation and construction efforts within an active VA medical facility by providing technical mechanical engineering support and construction management services in support of Government requirements.

• Ability to perform full-time onsite Mechanical Engineering support at an occupied VA medical facility.
• Working knowledge of federal construction processes and applicable VA standards and guidelines.
• Experience supporting mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing medical gas chilled water steam and related building infrastructure.
• Ability to review construction documents contractor submittals RFIs/RFCs schedules and proposed changes and provide technical recommendations to the Government COR.
• Experience supporting site observations and identifying mechanical deficiencies discrepancies and non-conforming work.
• Ability to support schedule cost quality safety and risk considerations related to mechanical systems.
• Experience maintaining project documentation including inspection reports daily logs meeting minutes correspondence RFIs submittals and closeout documentation.
• Ability to participate in project meetings site walks and coordination with contractors designers and Government stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Primavera P6 Kahua or other VA/federal construction management systems preferred.

Relevant Experience

• Experience providing mechanical engineering or construction management support for healthcare VA or federally funded construction projects.
• Experience supporting large renovation or major construction projects within active medical facilities.
• Experience reviewing and inspecting mechanical installations for compliance with contract documents and applicable codes.
• Prior VA VISN Department of Defense or other federal healthcare facility experience strongly preferred.

Education

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or demonstrated mechanical engineering experience in a construction or facilities environment.
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience; healthcare or federal facilities experience strongly preferred.
