Shift: 12-Hour Shifts (07:00 - 19:00) 3x a week

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team on a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care and be comfortable working independently or in a team to provide exceptional care to patients across various units. Youll be working primarily with adults though flexibility to care for pediatric and newborn patients is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple areas including ICU ER M/S and PEDS
• Deliver routine and emergency care in critical care settings including invasive and non-invasive ventilator management
• Perform procedures such as extubation airway placement (oral/nasal) sputum specimen collection and tracheostomy care
• Administer respiratory medications such as Albuterol Atrovent Flovent Racemic Epinephrine and more
• Interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Assist with COVID-19 patient care when necessary
• Provide support for newborn stabilization before transport (low volume)
• Occasionally assist with EKGs in support of the Cardiology Department after hours

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility
• Required certifications: ACLS BLS CRT NRP and active NY State license
• Expertise in adult critical care and emergency procedures
• Proficiency in mechanical ventilation BiPAP CPAP high-flow nasal cannula and other respiratory therapy equipment
• Experience with the preferred ventilators: Servo I LTV and Hamilton T1
• Comfortable working alone or alongside another therapist
• Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment
