As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking - Banking and Wealth Management / Data Technology Team youare an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. As a core technical contributor you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams contractors and vendors
• Develops secure and high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Drives decisions that influence the product design application functionality and technical operations and processes
• Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks tools and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
• Adds to the team culture of diversity opportunity inclusion and respect

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s) and framework(s) (i.e. Java Spring framework Kafka Streams Flink Data Lake & Low Latency stores)
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
• Practical cloud native experience

• Apache Flink Kafka and Confluent Cloud
• Experience working with Petabyte scale environments and streaming billions of events per day

• Advanced knowledge of ReactJS Angular

• Familiarity with test-driven development and unit/UI test frameworks such as Jest Selenium Web driver IO React Testing Library Mock Service Worker and Playwright is a plus
