As a Clinic Medical Assistant youll play a vital role in supporting our primary care providers and ensuring a safe efficient and compassionate clinical environment across our Article 16 Clinic locations.
Position Overview
The Medical Assistant supports primary care providers through both clinical and administrative responsibilities ensuring seamless patient care before during and after visits. This role is essential in maintaining quality assurance infection control standards and an exceptional experience for the people we support.
What Youll Do
- Support primary care providers during medical appointments
- Coordinate pre- and post-visit planning (triage communication orders documentation)
- Maintain exam rooms medical supplies and equipment (including ordering and monitoring expiration dates)
- Ensure quality assurance and infection control standards are met across all clinic locations
- Build and maintain professional relationships with community healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with regulations
- Travel to clinic sites across Fulton Schoharie and Albany counties as needed
- Participate in clinic and department meetings and ongoing training
- Follow all agency policies procedures and regulatory requirements (NYS DOH OPWDD Office of the Professions)
What Were Looking For
- Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate program or equivalent experience in a medical setting
- Strong organizational communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to ethical standards confidentiality and high-quality care
- Willingness and ability to travel between clinic locations
- Current (or ability to obtain) First Aid & CPR certification
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing walking bending and assisting people receiving services
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Requires visual and auditory ability to assess and communicate effectively
- Work is performed across multiple clinic locations
