Cakum Global is recruiting a Mechanic Reach Stacker / Heavy Equipment for a client based in Lae Papua New Guinea.
Role Overview: This is a hands-on technical role responsible for maintaining and repairing reach stackers and heavy equipment to ensure safe reliable and efficient port and logistics operations. The role suits a skilled mechanic with strong diagnostic ability and experience in demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inspections diagnostics maintenance and repairs on reach stackers and heavy equipment.
Conduct preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
Troubleshoot mechanical hydraulic and electrical faults.
Carry out major component repairs and part replacements.
Maintain accurate service records and job logs.
Support breakdown response and field service when required.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven experience working on reach stackers or similar heavy equipment.
Background in mining ports logistics and field operations highly regarded.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines hydraulics and diagnostic systems.
Hands-on problem-solving mindset with high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a remote or challenging environment.
Employment Package
3-year contract (aligned with work permit)
Company-provided accommodation and transport
Annual leave: 3 weeks international leave (inc return flights home) 1 week local leave
