We are looking for a Junior Network Security Engineer to strengthen a dedicated Security Engineering this role you will help safeguard and optimize complex network environments ensuring stability performance and high security standards.
You will work on central network infrastructures supporting security operations incident handling and continuous improvement initiatives. This is not a traditional on-site networking role instead you will focus on centralized large-scale network security environments.
Your Responsibilities
Monitor manage and secure central network environments
Identify vulnerabilities and propose remediation measures
Provide 3rd-line support for incidents and change requests
Participate in security and infrastructure projects
Manage and maintain network security tools and systems
Support incident response and operational troubleshooting
Handle and prioritize incoming security events and tickets
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security architecture
Contribute to the development of security processes and procedures
Your Profile
Must-Have
Initial experience in network security
Experience as a network specialist (min. 1 year)
Hands-on experience with:
Palo Alto Networks & Panorama
Infoblox
Cisco / Fortinet (Fortigate)
Experience with VPN solutions (GlobalProtect Ivanti Connect Secure)
Experience managing DNS & certificates (e.g. Sectigo Harica)
Strong understanding of:
Network infrastructure
System administration & configurations
Dutch proficiency at CEFR level C2
Nice to Have
Experience with F5 BIG-IP or CrushFTP
Knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols routing & switching
Familiarity with Splunk or log analysis tools
Experience with ITSM tools (e.g. Freshservice)
Experience in public sector environments
