To enhance our goals of supporting every child Needham Public Schools seeks candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Under the general supervision of the Special Education Coordinator and School Principal the BCBA will support students with autism who are in inclusion classrooms and/or in other programs. The BCBA will provide consultation to special education teachers general education teachers teaching assistants related services providers and/or parents.
Build program capacity throughout the district as required and/or support and/or consult with students and staff as required
Develop programs for students that require discrete trials ABA work and programming through the ABLLS and/or VBMAPP
Training of staff in Intensive Autism Programs
Provide professional development for Professional Development days and Early Release days
Educate and work with general education staff and teaching assistants
Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans for students in order to improve students challenging behaviors
Attend IEP meetings
Support staff with data
Support staff on skill development for individual students collection and using data to drive instruction and programming for individual students
Plan with staff for successful socialization and inclusion within regular education settings and with typically developing peers
Any other duties for responsibilities as determined by the Director of Special Educationand building Special Education Coordinator
RequiredQualifications:
Certified in Massachusetts as a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst
Masters Degree
At least 3 years working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
