About the role

We are looking for an Actuary to join our Nordic Actuary unit of 8 team members in business area Private.

Here are the main responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for estimating the reserves needed to cover the companys liabilities using actuarial methods

• You will reserve both short and long tailed business in Private Denmark while participating in projects and development responsibilities across the Nordics

• You will stay up to date with changes in products claims and other relevant developments that may affect the reserves.

• You will develop a close collaboration with the Product & Price business unit as well as engaging with other stakeholders where reserving plays a role.

About the team

As you will join our Nordic team of 8 Reserving Actuaries in BA Private you will be working across borders on reserving-related matters such as new analyses and reporting hereof.

In the team we are keen to share developments within each country providing knowledge sharing and a broadening perspective of factors affecting claims development and the valuation hereof.

Following the merger of If and Topdanmark in 2025 you will be a key contributor from the team to the integration of systems and processes within the reserving domain during the first period at If.

Who are you

You also have:

• A Masters degree in Actuarial Mathematics Statistics or similar field

• Ideally 2 years of experience in reserving/pricing within non-life insurance or actuarial consulting

• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills making it easy for you to collaborate with others on challenging problems

• Attention to details

• An interest in building good and long-lasting relationships and networks

• Experience/interest in Python programming and BI tools are highly valued

• Experience/interest in applying a hybrid of classical and modern actuarial techniques to challenging problems

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Fluency in both written and spoken Danish and English. Fluency in other Nordic languages is a benefit
