Sparta Area Schools is seeking a compassionate and reliable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to support students with complex medical needs in accordance with physician orders and care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and document student health status and communicate with families and staff as appropriate
- Collaborate with school staff to support student access to education
- Maintain accurate health records in compliance with state and federal regulations
Qualifications:
- Current and valid LPN or RN license in the state of Michigan
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in pediatric community health or school nursing preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively in dynamic environments
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting students with specialized health needs such as Diabetes Seizures Tracheostomies G-Tubes Ventilators etc. Familiarity with special education processes and documentation
- Commitment to equity inclusion and student-centered care.
Work Schedule & Environment:
- Follows the school calendar (no weekends holidays or summers unless otherwise noted)
- Daytime hours aligned with the student schedule
