Director of Admissions East Campus

Brentwood School a vibrant and diverse K12 independent school in Los Angeles is seeking a full-time East Campus Director of Admissions. Brentwoods East Campus houses the schools Middle (6-8) and Upper (9-12) programs. Total enrollment in both programs is approximately 960 students. This is a twelve-month position that reports to the Executive Director of Strategy and Engagement and serves on the Senior Administrative Team. The East Campus Director of Admissions leads a team of three Associate Directors and an Administrative Assistant and works closely with the West Campus Director of Admissions (K5).

THE POSITION

The East Campus Director of Admissions leads a talented team responsible for imparting Brentwoods mission values and program to prospective families. The Director oversees all aspects of the admissions process for Grades 6 through 12 partners with the West Campus Admissions Office to ensure consistency across the K12 experience and works in close collaboration with Division Directors faculty department leaders and the Head of School to build cohesive balanced and diverse classes.

EXPECTATIONS

It is expected that a successful candidate would:

  • Provide leadership through the support and collaboration with a strong admissions team
  • Oversee all aspects of the admissions process for grades 6 through 12
  • Interview applicants and their parents/guardians/caregivers
  • Organize Open House events and recruitment events
  • Participate in numerous recruitment engagements at elementary middle and secondary school nights/events
  • Meet with elementary and middle school heads and principals
  • Partner with the West Campus Admissions Office to ensure consistency in admissions materials communications and applicant experience
  • Collaborate with the Directors of the Middle and Upper School to plan and coordinate orientation activities for new students and their families
  • Chair the Middle and Upper School Admissions Committee meetings
  • In consultation with the Head of School finalize decisions on all applicants
  • Serve on the Financial Support Committee
  • Co-manage the re-enrollment process for returning families
  • Engage fully in the daily life of the school and support students of varied identities lifestyles and beliefs
  • Serve as a skilled spokesperson for the schools vibrant educational program
  • Capture and share the life of the school through compelling storytelling across platforms channels and community touchpoints
  • Work closely with the Head of Brentwood School and the members of the School Leadership Team to foster the strength of the entire school

  • At least five years of expertise in admissions or a related field as well as teaching experience
  • A lifelong learner who uses the latest research to complement their own experiences
  • A Bachelors degree is required with advanced degrees preferred

The favored candidate is an outgoing energetic confident person of keen intellect and integrity who will enjoy developing and guiding the admissions process on the East Campus. This position requires a leader who is the soul of discretion self-aware and approachable.

COMPENSATION: Brentwood Schools employment requirements vary from positions requiring no experience to those needing 20 years of expert experience. Our salary range includes all levels of experience from $150000 - $180000. Salaries are determined by years of experience education full- or part-time status role category and the number of months of work per school year. Salary ranges do not include benefits i.e. 403 (b) retirement matching paid lunch breaks free breakfast and lunch free parking a subsidy toward medical dental vision and life/AD&D plans and generous time off. The pay range is an estimate and is not guaranteed. If hired your actual base salary will be determined by your education experience and category.
