Join Sentara Healths interdisciplinary Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry team providing expert psychiatric care to medically complex and emergent patients across Sentaras facilities. Youll work closely with ED medical and surgical teams supported by licensed therapists behavioral health navigators and a systemwide psychiatric response network.

Practice Highlights

• Primary assignment at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital
• Schedule: 7 on/ 7 off (7a-7p)
• Daily co-management of ED behavioral health patients
• Inpatient consults on behavioral medical and surgical units
• Virtual consult support to lower-volume facilities
• No inpatient psych admissions (handled by dedicated inpatient psychiatrists)
• Strong interdisciplinary support: APPs therapists navigators case managers

Key Responsibilities

• Psychiatric consultation for complex medical and co-occurring conditions
• Diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning
• Medication management and crisis intervention
• Collaborative team-based care across hospital services
• Supervision of APPs and students as needed
