Anticipated Dance Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:

Franklin Township Public Schools is seeking a passionate and skilled Dance Educator to teach Contemporary and Advanced Dance at Sampson G. Smith School (SGS). This position offers an opportunity to deliver rigorous engaging instruction while contributing to the continued growth of a strong and evolving dance program.

The successful candidate will design and implement Board Approved Curriculum standards-aligned instruction that develops students technical proficiency artistic expression and understanding of choreography. Instruction should be differentiated to meet diverse learning needs and foster a structured high-expectations environment that promotes engagement discipline and creativity.

Dance is a highly valued and visible component of the Franklin Township arts program. We are seeking an educator who approaches this work with professionalism and purpose and who is committed to advancing the programbuilding on its strong foundation and continuing to elevate the quality of student performance and opportunities.

This role requires collaboration with administration and the district dance department to plan coordinate and produce multiple student performances and dance showcases throughout the school year. The candidate will also contribute to a cohesive vertically aligned dance program and demonstrate a commitment to expanding student participation elevating performance quality and strengthening the visibility of dance within the school community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Appropriate New Jersey Certification required: Teacher of Dance
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across different demographics
• Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
• Successful Criminal History Clearance
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

10 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement the salary range for this position in the 26/27 SY is Step 1 BA/BS ($68023) - Step 18 PhD/EdD ($99380). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.

ANNUAL EVALUATION: Performance is reviewed annually in accordance with NJ State lawand the provisions of the Board of Education policy on evaluations for certificated staff.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS: Ability to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position including but not limited Google Suite IEP software program and Genesis Employee Portal and Student Information System.
