Maintenance Process Engineer

Shaw Industries is hiring aMaintenanceProcess Engineer to perform safety/engineering/technical assignments using manufacturing engineering practices and principles with minimal supervision at Shaw Plant 8s in Columbia SC.They will design and implement manufacturing methods and processes that support department goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all activities of themaintenancedepartment including safety performance employeerelationsand product quality.

• Must develop a strong working knowledge of allplantequipment process flows and upkeep equipment capability. Common equipment includesprocesscontrol systemscompressors chillers boilers heating/cooling systems turbines power equipmentindustrial pumps and heatexchangers.

• Ensure that themaintenancedepartment follows all safety rules and regulations. Work to minimize safety and environmental incidents in the department by completing investigation reports auditing capturing procedures/best practices overseeing permitting andmaintaininga team culture of prioritizing safety.

• Write and/ormodifyprocedures in SMS. Ensure these procedures align with plant Safety Quality and Productivity goals.

• Troubleshoot any equipment issues related toplantequipment and implement corrective actions as well as adjust equipment tomaintainproper operation until repairs are complete.

• Coach counsel and mentor all Dept. hourly employeesregardingequipment and process control. Maintain positive employee relations.

• Responsible for all Six Sigma projects for the Department. Work with Corporate Engineering on capital projects.

• Set expectations for all outside contract vendors and ensure that all work performed is to the highest standards.

• Meet with and evaluate potential new vendors for the site. Responsible for renewing contracts for outside services within the Department.

• Must be willing to work late or come in early in case of a plantequipment malfunction.May be on call 24/7 to address issues that affect plant operations.

• Must be able toassistoperators during plant equipment malfunctions. Must be able to make quick and sound decisions in a highstressenvironment.

• Assistsother department personnel/areas as needed. Other duties as assigned byDepartmentManager.

• Drive and support creation of training content and procedures to drive sustainable work practices.

Qualifications:

• Must have4-yearBachelors degree in engineeringor related field.

• Mustpossessgood interpersonal communication organizational and leadership skills.

• Must be able toworkholidays weekends and overtime as.

• Plant 8S is a tobacco-free facility.

• Working knowledge of utilities related equipment
