WUD Legacy Modernization Project

This Business Analyst role serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams ensuring that software solutions effectively meet organizational needs. The position is responsible for gathering and documenting business and system requirements translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria and collaborating with developers to design and validate user interfaces through wireframes and prototypes. The analyst leads process analysis efforts mapping current and future workflows and supports iterative development through stakeholder demonstrations and feedback incorporation.

In addition the role plays a key part in quality assurance by developing test cases supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensuring solutions align with business objectives prior to deployment. The analyst also manages requirement changes assesses project impacts and helps control scope. Post-implementation they produce user documentation and deliver training to drive adoption. This position requires strong communication skills to work across technical and non-technical audiences along with experience in data modeling SQL and system design while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and organizational policies.

Job Duties:

  • Working with the Clients IRD and user staff to develop Business Requirements Documents or Software Requirements Specifications. The BA will translate the specification into User Stories Tasks and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Collaborate with developers to create wireframes or mockups to validate that the visual design meets stakeholder expectations.
  • Assist in presenting the resultant prototype to various end user audiences to demonstrate screen content dialog and usability and to identify and incorporate user-requested changes as directed by the technical leaders/project manager.
  • Developing detailed flowcharts and models mapping as-is and the to-be processes and performing modifications from design reviews prototype evaluations and assessment testing.
  • Act as a translator between the business and IT explaining technical constraints to executives while providing business context to developers to prevent misunderstandings.
  • Prepare test cases/scenarios and support end-users during UAT to verify that the final software solves the business problem before it goes live.
  • Analyze the impact of new requirements on the timeline helping to manage scope creep and ensuring changes still align with project goals.
  • Produce user manuals process guides and lead training sessions to ensure that employees can successfully adopt and use the new software once it is deployed.
  • Assist with implementing applications in complex environments in an iterative prototype-user evaluation life cycle with later more complete functional versions accessible to select external users via the Internet to verify functional provisions and usability including access by disabled persons and those using screen readers such as JAWS and the NVDA.
  • Review program modules which meet Clients DIR and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) specifications and standards.
  • Communicating and working with people of all technical levels in a team environment.

Required Skills:

  • Agreement to adhere to all Client policies procedures and management directives including required project documentation deliverables as defined by Clients Process Asset Library.
  • Skill conceptual understanding of IT systems project methodologies software development methodologies and database structures to collaborate effectively with developers.
  • Skill in preparing technical documents of varying complexities for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Skill in working with data automation standards and systems administration technologies.
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting agency organizations business practices policies and procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate and evaluate the work of others and to explain abstract concepts and terms.
  • Experience with data modeling entity relationship diagrams SQL and Web page user interface design.
  • Knowledge of database concepts such as referential integrity and data normalization.
  • Excellent communication skills written and oral with people of all technical levels.
  • Five (5) years of full-time experience in business systems analysis.
  • Five (5) years of full-time experience in quality analysis/assurance.
  • Knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems and their integration with end user business processes.
