The Manager of Extended Day and Enrichment Programs is responsible for the daily operations and educational quality of all out-of-school-time programming at Abington Friends School during the 2026-27 school year. This includes theExtended Day (Aftercare)programEnrichment Classesup through and including grade 6 and programming on other days when school is closed (conference days inservice days etc) The Manager ensures that the program aligns with the schools Quaker valuessimplicity peace integrity community equality and stewardshipwhile providing a safe engaging and nurturing environment for students.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Leadership & Vision
Work with the Director of Experiential Learning to develop and implement a diverse array of enrichment activities (e.g. athletics arts STEM) that cater to varying student interests and developmental stages.
Ensure the program reflects the schools commitment to diversity equity and inclusion.
Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback from students parents and faculty to ensure continuous improvement.
2. Operations & Management
Oversee the daily logistical flow of the program including student check-in/out snack service and transitions.
Manage the program budget including tracking revenue expenses and payroll.
Coordinate the use of campus facilities with other school departments to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Coordinate care for faculty and staff children on inservice and conference days.
3. Staff Supervision
Recruit hire train and mentor a team of after-school teachers assistant instructors and external vendors.
Conduct staff meetings and professional development sessions to maintain high standards of student care.
4. Communication & Community Engagement
Act as the primary point of contact for parents regarding registration billing and student behavioral or medical concerns.
Market programs to the school community through newsletters the school website and seasonal catalogs.
Qualifications
Education:Bachelors degree in Education or a related field preferred or equivalent work in an education environment.
Experience:35 years of experience in educational leadership camp management or auxiliary program administration.
Skills:Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills
Behavior management skills with an understanding of restorative practices.
Proficiency in school management software (e.g. Blackbaud Clarity) and GoogleApps.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to connect with children and adults alike.

Working Conditions
This is a 10-month position requiring presence during afternoon hours (typically 12:00 PM 6:00 PM) to oversee the transition from the school day to the extended day program.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for school-wide events or seasonal program launches.
