The Opportunity
We areseekinga strategic and relationship-drivenFund Development Specialistto lead and grow our fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Executive Director this roleis responsible forthe development implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive annual fundraising strategy including major gifts plannedgiving signature events and capital campaigns as.
As a key member of the leadership team you will work collaboratively with the Executive Director Board of Directors staff and volunteers to advance fundraising initiatives that sustain and expand the organizations impact. You will also provide supervision and guidance to the Donor Relations & Support Services Administrator while serving as a passionate ambassador for the organization in the community.

You are an engaging communicator who can connect authentically with donors partners and stakeholders and you understand the importance of ethical storytelling and donor stewardship. You are highly organized adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to working from an intersectional feminist perspective and advancing equity and inclusion is essential in this role.

Located in the South Okanagan SOWINS is a non-profit society providing safe refuge and community-based resources for women and children. SOWINS operatesa transitionaland second-stage housing facilities including counselling and outreach services. At SOWINS we work from an intersectional feminist philosophy and support trauma-informed practice and harm reduction models.

Executive Level Accountabilities
Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive fund development strategy to increase annual revenue.
Provide leadership in planning and implementing fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the Executive Director Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
Build manage and steward a portfolio of donors including major gifts and plannedgivingprospects.
Strengthen relationships with donors community partners volunteers and stakeholders to enhance engagement and long-term support.
Oversee the planning and execution of signature fundraising events and support third-party initiatives.
Monitor evaluate and report on fundraising performance including metrics outcomes and financial results.
Develop and manage the fundraising budget ensuring responsible financial stewardship.
Ensure effective donor data management compliance with relevant regulations andtimelyacknowledgment of contributions.
Collaborate on the development of fundraising communications campaigns and storytelling initiatives.
Provide supervision mentorship and support to the Donor Relations & Support Services Administrator.
Represent the organization publicly through presentations donor meetings tours and community engagement activities.
Qualifications
Degree in Communications Marketing Business Public Relations or a related field.
57 years of progressive experience in a senior fundraising role including campaign and donor management.
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing fundraising strategies and achieving revenue targets.
Strong knowledge of fundraising principles donor stewardship and planned giving.
Exceptional interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
Proven leadership and relationship-building abilities.
Experience working with or supporting a Board of Directors is an asset.
Previoussupervisory experience is an asset.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle.
CFRE designation is considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of education training and experience will be considered
