Evaluation Period:Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester.
Purpose: The purpose of the student worker position is to provide essential support to the Health Sciences Department by assisting with various administrative and operational tasks.
Position dates: This position begins in S426 or S127 and may continue subject to satisfactory performance of your duties the availability of work and the availability of departmental funds.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with administrative duties including but not limited to typing filing copying scanning and indexing documents entering data into spreadsheets and projects as assigned.
Maintaining the Health Sciences Function Room and Kitchen area by keeping the place clean and neat at all times.
Monitoring office supplies by restocking items and making notes of inventory shortages when needed.
Sorting mail.
Assistwith small design projects such as event materials.
Assist with event coordination including preparing design projects and event materials and handling event set-ups before during and after events.
This position requires communication and coordination with the health sciences coordinator multiple staff and faculty members and the Dean.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University.
- Work Study eligibility required.
- 15-20 hours per week.
- Ability to work on own initiative independently and meet deadlines.
- Well organized punctual and reliable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) Google Suite (Sheets Forms Docs) and Canva.
- Should have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
- Should have strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully both orally and in writing with individuals at all levels within the University.
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
