Leading Hand

What you will be required to do:

Join a fast-paced recycling and waste management facility in a hands-on leadership role supporting daily plant operations and coordinating shift activities.

• Coordinate and oversee daily shift tasks to ensure smooth operations
• Act as the key point of contact between shift employees and the Shift Supervisor
• Monitor team performance and provide guidance and support
• Assist with the efficient running of plant operations and step in during Supervisor absences
• Report plant issues breakdowns and maintenance requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational or equipment issues where possible
• Ensure all employees follow site safety procedures and OHS&E guidelines
• Provide training mentoring and ongoing support to team members
• Allocate daily duties based on roster and operational needs
• Maintain a clean safe and organised work environment

To be successful in the role you will:

• Have previous experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory role (preferred)
• Demonstrate strong leadership communication and team coordination skills
• Have a solid understanding of workplace safety and compliance procedures
• Be hands-on with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Show a high level of reliability motivation and work ethic
• Be physically fit and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
• Be able to work with minimal supervision and take initiative
• Have full working rights in Australia (At Least a permanent resident or citizen for this role)
• Have reliable transport to and from site
