About this Position
The Greenwood School of Music at Oklahoma State University seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Percussion with a start date of August 2026.
Responsibilities:
The Greenwood School of Music seeks a qualified percussionist to teach undergraduate and graduate music majors and non-majors with instruction spanning classical jazz and contemporary styles coach and direct percussion ensembles and jazz combos lead weekly studio class and collaborate with faculty to support student success and ensemble excellence. The successful candidate is expected to engage in service to the unit and their profession be productive as an artist/scholar and to promote a welcoming learning environment.

The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music has a current faculty of over 40 full-time faculty combined with a full-time professional staff of 9. There are approximately 300 students enrolled in degree programs that include the BA BM BS and MM with programs in music education performance jazz music and music industry. Required Qualifications
- Masters degree in percussion or related field.
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Evidence of successful applied teaching experience at the university level.
- Skills Proficiencies and/or Knowledge:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D./Ed.D.
Earned doctorate or equivalent professional experience.
Strong performance background in both classical and jazz idioms.
