The Lead K12 Humanities Facilitator provides districtwide leadership to ensure high-quality standards-aligned and culturally responsive instruction across all humanities disciplines including English Language Arts and Social Studies. This role leads the development alignment and implementation of curriculum assessment and instructional practices to promote coherence and rigor from kindergarten through grade 12.
In partnership with school leaders teachers and district departments the Facilitator designs and delivers professional learning provides job-embedded coaching and builds educator capacity in effective instructional strategies that support literacy critical thinking and inquiry. The role uses student and system-level data to identify trends guide instructional planning and support continuous improvement including alignment with MTSS and equitable access to instruction.
Serving as the district content expert for humanities this position ensures fidelity of curriculum implementation supports the adoption and effective use of instructional materials and collaborates across departments and stakeholders to strengthen instructional systems and improve student outcomes.

Leads curriculum development professional learning and instructional alignment efforts while building educator capacity and supporting continuous improvement across schools.
Essential Job Functions
Content & Instructional Leadership
- Lead development refinement and alignment of curriculum instruction and assessment within assigned content area
- Serve as district content expert and resource for schools and leadership
- Promote research-based culturally responsive instructional practices
Professional Learning & Capacity Building
- Design and facilitate districtwide professional learning aligned to content standards and instructional priorities
- Provide coaching and support to teachers instructional leaders and teams
- Develop teacher leaders and content specialists across schools
Curriculum Implementation & Support
- Support implementation of district-adopted instructional materials and resources
- Monitor instructional trends and fidelity of implementation across schools
- Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment across grade levels
Assessment & Data Analysis
- Support development and alignment of common assessments
- Analyze district and state data to identify trends gaps and priorities
- Guide data-driven instructional planning and improvement efforts
Collaboration & Systems Alignment
- Collaborate with school leaders and district departments (e.g. Special Education ELD GT)
- Support alignment of instructional initiatives and district priorities
- Contribute to strategic planning and improvement efforts

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Education or related field
- Valid state teaching license
- Minimum of 57 years of successful teaching experience
- Demonstrated leadership in curriculum development instructional design or content-area leadership
- Experience designing and facilitating professional learning at the school or district level
- Strong background in data analysis and instructional improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction Educational Leadership or related field
- Experience leading district-level initiatives or cross-school work
- Deep expertise in a specific content area (e.g. Humanities STEM Literacy)
- Experience supporting instructional material adoption or implementation
- Knowledge of state standards and assessment systems (e.g. Colorado Academic Standards)
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Work is primarily sedentary with periods of light activity. Essential functions may include walking or standing for brief periods; lifting and carrying materials up to 20 pounds; climbing stairs; bending; reaching; handling objects; and operating a computer and standard office equipment. The role requires effective communication and the ability to receive and process information through normal or aided vision hearing or other assisted means.
Work is performed in a district office or administrative setting with regular collaboration across departments and external partners and may include occasional evening or weekend responsibilities. Duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Employees in this category will also receive the following for the 2025-2026 school year:
- Non-Recurring Pay: 7% of base salary in Non-Recurring Pay (distributed as 3.5% on November paycheck and 3.5% on May paycheck).
- Professional Development Fund (PDF):EXEC Pro employees will be allocated $1500 annually towards a Professional Development Fund (PDF) to be used for professional growth opportunities. Amount allocated will be prorated based upon date and length of hire.
- Staffing Stability Incentive (Mitchell High School Only):EXEC Pro employees will receive the equivalent of one salary step divided over 12 pay periods (calculated as the difference between the placed step and the next step x number of hours per week x 4 weeks x 12 months).
- Pay for Performance (Mitchell High School):EXEC Pros will receive a Pay for Performance Bonus that is paid out in the fall (utilizing criteria from the previous year).
Base Salary Setting:Employment assignment and salary placement is in accordance with job description requirements. A work history is required to demonstrate job title job duties and time worked in the position. Reference the linkedHow Your Compensation Is Determinedfor more details.
Salary Setting (New Hires):Newly-employed Executive Professionals will be placed on the twenty (20) step system. Each step represents two years of experience based upon equivalent experience. Beginning in July 2025 The maximum number of years of experience granted is 14 which is equivalent to placement on step seven (7). Steps are determined by experience listed on the application and resume.
Salary Setting (Rehires):Returning employees who have previously resigned or separated from the District will be rehired at the same step they were on at the time of resignation/separation plus any new experience gained in the same job provided step increases were approved by the Board during the years in question.
Employees with experience in the District who have left the District and then returned to the same position shall be hired at the same pay grade(refers to the EXEC Pro placement on salary schedule by job title) and step at time of resignation. Additional relevant experience gained after resignation may be evaluated from the employees application and updated resume.
