About the opportunity
Reporting to the Director Conservatorium of Music and working with strategic oversight from the CEO of AMEB Ltd the AMEB Tasmania State Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the operations of AMEB Tasmania. The role supports the AMEB Board in promoting planning delivering and monitoring highquality music and performance examinations and publications across the state. The State Manager provides senior administrative and operational leadership drawing on strong sector knowledge and welldeveloped stakeholder relationships to offer highlevel advice to the AMEB Federal Board and the Director Conservatorium of Music.
As part of the national network of AMEB State Managers this role plays a key part in promoting and growing AMEB activities in Tasmania and contributing to broader business strategy planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
The Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) delivers a nationally recognised system of music and speech and drama examinations and publications supporting learners at all stages. AMEB is Australias most widely used music and speech assessment system the countrys largest publisher of educational print music and has delivered Rockschool examinations nationally since 2016.
The AMEB operates under the governance of a Federal Board comprising representatives from signatory educational institutions and state governments including the University of Tasmania on behalf of the Tasmanian Minister for Education.
Operationally the AMEB Tasmania State Manager has endtoend responsibility for the coordination and effective delivery of examinations events promotional initiatives and the daytoday operations of the state office making a significant contribution to Tasmanias music education ecosystem.
What youll do:
- Lead the effective planning and delivery of theory and practical examinations across Tasmania with a focus on identifying and nurturing new and emerging markets for AMEB including Rockschool musical theatre and online exams.
- Lead the daytoday operations and administration of AMEB Tasmania ensuring efficient systems highquality customer service and effective coordination of administrative staff.
- Promote AMEB products and services across Tasmania including the development and delivery of workshops masterclasses and concerts that support engagement across regional communities.
- Manage and coordinate the Tasmanian Examining Panel and examiners identifying capability needs and maintaining strong stakeholder communication and engagement.
- Represent AMEB Tasmania at State Manager Conferences and relevant arts and education forums contributing to organisational strategy planning and continuous improvement at a national level.
What were looking for:
- Completion of a bachelor degree in a relevant area or a combination of education training and experience commensurate with the requirements of the position.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication/presentation skills with advanced computer literacy including competence in Office 365 applications and database operations.
- Strong administration organisation and analytical/evaluation skills with a demonstrated ability to manage workflows and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills including the capability to effectively liaise with all levels of the organisation and to work in a flexible and collaborative manner with stakeholders towards effective delivery of successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute positively to the AMEB national team environment and commitment to continuous self and operational improvement.
Qualifications and Licences:
- Full Australian Drivers License
- Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116872 comprising base salary within the range of $92120 to $99891 plus 17% superannuation.
