$15.95 - $23.58 Hourly
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
These positions are represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) and are subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.
DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation
HOURS OF WORK: Hours vary; Monday through Sunday; between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
LOCATION(S): 12001 Business Blvd. Suite 123
These seasonal part-time positions (working 24 hours per week) and will end approximately six (6) months after date of hire.
Employees who are initially hired for any Seasonal position shall be placed at Step 3 and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.
Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head. Not all positions are eligible for remote work (telecommuting) per P&P 40-40.
To be considered for employment applicants must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States. The Municipality of Anchorage is not able to provide any type of sponsorship including Student Visas and Employment Visas under any circumstances.
Example of Duties
Under direction organizes develops and leads children and/or adults in various indoor and outdoor non-day care recreational activities and programs or in recreational activities and programs in a Municipal licensed day camp program lasting more than 4 hours per day or 20 hours per week.
Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma GED or equivalent and three (3) months experience leading directing supervising coaching or teaching children and/or adults at a recreation facility a childcare facility a childcare program camps educational institutions therapeutic recreational programs team organized youth programs or other similar programs.
All applicants must possess or obtain:
American Red Cross First Aid and American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification or equivalent within 30 days of hire.
Satisfactory completion of a national criminal background investigation (AS 12.62.160 and AS 12.62.400).
