Senior Electrical Estimator

Youll develop through handson experience peer collaboration and ongoing technical training.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for:
- Develops cost estimates from takeoff stage to bid handoff working closely with the Project Manager assigned to the project.
- Develops cost estimates for change orders as needed.
- Analyzes material labor equipment and other requirements to complete a project.
- Attends prebid and scope review meetings as well as job walks when necessary.
- Prepares detailed scope letters.
- Reading & thoroughly understanding blueprints.
- Meets with engineers customers vendors and Project Managers.
- Contacts vendors and subcontractors for pricing.
- Ability to coordinate and organize other estimators
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications Knowledge Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Low Voltage Systems.
- Ability to read and evaluate specifications and blueprints.
- Ability to deal effectively with customers.
- Ability to analyze risks involved with certain project types.
- Ability to estimate large and small projects.
- Ability to work calmly under deadlines and external pressure.
- Excellent math skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong computer skills- Specifically in Microsoft Suite Applications
Education Requirements:
- 8-10 years of experience with a High School Diploma or
- 6-8 years of experience with an Associate degree or
- 2-4 years of experience with a Bachelors degree
Preferred but not required:
- Familiarity with ConEst Estimating Software
- Hands-on construction experience
Abilities:
- Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
- Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms for example using a keyboard.
- Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
- Identify and understand the speech of another person.
