We are now looking for a Programme Officer with a strong interest in workforce development learning and system improvement to help us turn ambition into action.

About the Role

As an Officer within Public Health Workforce Development you will work across teams services and partnerships to support programmes that develop skills strengthen practice and improve outcomes for Birminghams population.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to:

  • Act as an initiative-taking and dependable programme officer providing both programme and administrative support to workforce development and Public Health initiatives.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement identifying opportunities to improve processes systems ways of working and programme delivery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues partners and stakeholders to support learning skills development and service improvement.
  • Balance multiple priorities effectively working flexibly in response to changing Public Health and workforce needs.

You will report to a Senior Programme Officer and collaborate closely with colleagues across Public Health the wider Council NHS organisations the voluntary and community sector and regional partners.

What You will Be Doing

You will support the delivery of practical high-impact Public Health work by:

  • Provide effective operational and administrative support to workforce development programmes including learning initiatives meetings workshops and events ensuring these are wellcoordinated accessible and delivered to agreed timescales.
  • Administrative coordination and programme management. Supporting the smooth running of programmes including managing the Workforce Development mailboxes
  • Supporting data collection analysis and reporting to monitor progress workforce activity and outcomes contributing to learning and improvement.
  • Contributing to workforce development initiatives learning programmes and service improvement activity
  • Using data intelligence and insight to identify needs gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Supporting project and programme delivery that strengthens capability quality and consistency.
  • Enabling collaboration across Council services and external partners
  • Supporting meetings workshops and events that bring people together to share learning and drive progress.

Who We Are Looking For

You will be curious organised and motivated by improvement.

You will bring:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience
  • Experience supporting projects programmes or change initiatives.
  • An interest in workforce development learning or system change
  • Confidence working with data evidence and insight.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people.
  • An understanding of Public Health priorities prevention and reducing inequalities.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development

Additional Information

  • You will attend the office in Birmingham City Centre a minimum of 1 to 2 days a week.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK required for the 23-month contract; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
  • This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
