Social Worker – Safeguarding Team

Job Summary
Our client based in Birmingham. Is seeking experienced and committed Adult Safeguarding Social Workers to join their citywide safeguarding teams. These roles sit within a fastpaced statutory safeguarding service and require skilled practitioners who are confident working with complex risk multiagency partners and safeguarding legislation.
What will your responsibilities be
- Undertake and lead Section 42 safeguarding enquiries including screening risk assessment and investigation of safeguarding concerns.
- Coordinate safeguarding responses in line with the Care Act 2014 and Making Safeguarding Personal principles.
- Chair and contribute to strategy meetings professionals meetings and safeguarding planning meetings.
- Develop implement and review risk management and protection plans to manage complex risk.
- Work closely with multiagency partners including police health housing and care providers.
- Apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005 including capacity assessments Best Interest decisionmaking and accurate case recording.
Qualifications & Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have
- Professional Qualification: MA BA BSc in Social Work Diploma in Social Work or CQSW.
- Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 Years Post-qualified experience evidenced in a permanent qualified Social Worker role (ASYE completed). (MoC Cooling-Off Period)
- Legislation Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 Mental Capacity Act 2005 safeguarding procedures and Section 42 enquiries.
- Skills: Excellent risk assessment analysis report writing and communication skills. Confidence working in highrisk multiagency safeguarding environments.
- IT Skills: Experience using electronic case management systems and maintaining accurate timely records.
