Field Systems: The Trimble Field Systems segment provides solutions to increase precision and productivity in construction tasks by empowering stakeholders to collect accurate information and manage conditions with cutting-edge technology.

What Makes This Role Great:

In this role you will be at the forefront of developing next-generation APX navigation platforms directly influencing the precision of global mobile mapping and shaping the future of autonomous positioning technology. You will act as a key contributor to complex systems integration moving beyond theoretical design to see your Kalman filter enhancements solve real-world survey challenges across land air and sea.

Key Exciting Responsibilities

• Design and enhance advanced Kalman filters for GNSS/INS products utilizing IMUs and diverse aiding sensors to derive optimal navigation solutions.
• Spearhead the development and optimization of real-time algorithms for elite geospatial performance in survey and mapping applications.
• Conduct sophisticated error analysis and systems engineering to evaluate product performance in diverse operational settings.
• Lead data gathering and fine-tuning initiatives for next-generation navigation software platforms and connected hardware.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders and clients to present performance results and define software requirements for future innovations.

Essential Skills & Experience

• PhD in Aerospace Electrical Geomatics Engineering or Engineering Science with a focus on modern systems control and estimation.
• Proven expertise in Kalman filtering and GNSS navigation within aerospace defense or marine inertial applications.
• Advanced software development proficiency in C/C for real-time systems environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects and documentation within a fast-paced engineering lifecycle.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with multi-sensor fusion beyond standard GNSS/IMU integration.
• Prior involvement in autonomous vehicle positioning or direct georeferencing for imaging devices.
• Familiarity with post-mission mobile mapping software and hardware ecosystems.

Logistics:

Location: Richmond Hill Ontario (in-office)

Travel Requirement: Minimal occasional travel (5-10%)
