Job Summary
Job Overview:
Reporting to the Director Sales West the Sr. Manager Business Development plays a key role in supporting sales growth through data-driven insights strategic planning and operational execution. This role proactively leads engagement with Sales to improve forecast accuracy optimize trade investment and deliver actionable financial analysis to support customer planning. The Sr. Manager collaborates closely with Sales Finance Revenue Growth Management Sales Strategy & Planning and Supply Chain to help drive profitable growth and improve business performance across key accounts.
Preferred candidates are located in Central or Western US.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Lead Monthly / Quarterly reviewswithsales to improve forecast accuracy and drive consensus byprovidingdata-driven insights.
- Monitor trends promotions and customer activity to adjust volume projections and highlightRisksorOpportunities to be included in monthly S&OP
- Develop and implement trade spending reconciliation process for the US Sales team working closely with finance and RGM guidance to Manager of business development in this endeavor
- Track and reconcile trade budgets in coordination with Finance and Sales.
- Assistin post-event evaluations and recommend adjustments to improve trade investment efficiency/effectiveness.
- Develop and distribute regular performance reports and dashboards (e.g. volume sales margin deductions).
- Highlight key business drivers and partner with Sales to identify areas for growthefficiencyor effectiveness.
- Assistwith the creation of business cases and strategic presentations for customer growth opportunitiesandmanageinternal approvalprocess.
- Collaborate with National Account Managers and Sales leaders to support the development of customer strategies and joint business plans.
- Contribute toidentifyingnew opportunities through analysis of sales performance market trends andconsumer insights.
- Partner with internal teams (Finance SalesSales Strategy & Planning and Revenue Growth Management) to ensure plans are executable and financially sound.
- Act as a power user for planning tools and reporting systems; help improve workflows and data accuracy.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Business Development Sales Operations Trade Marketing or Sales Finance preferably in the CPG industry.
- Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Finance or a related field.
- Highly analytical demonstrated ability to analyze data provide insights and develop reporting
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with consumption data (IRI/Circana or Nielsen) and BI tools (Power BI) systems is an asset.
- Strong communication skills prior experience translating marketing and sales plans into tools that support the sales teams
- Excellent organizational skills is proactive with internal deadlines can successfully manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Keeps the sales team accountable for individual deadlines
- Collaborative and positive interpersonal skills can successfully navigate problem-solving with internal partners demonstrated experience in creating internal partnerships and influencing cross-functional teams
- Passion for putting customers and consumers at the forefront of actions and strategies
