JOB TITLE: MS/ HS Attendance Clerk
WAGE/HOUR STATUS:Exempt
FUNDING SOURCE:Local
REPORTS TO: Campus Principal
PAY GRADE: P40
DUTY DAYS: 198

A Letter of Assurance will be issued for this position.
PRIMARYPURPOSE: Maintainaccurateand complete student attendance records
QUALIFICATIONS:
MinimumEducation/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GEDrequired
- Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively use district attendance programs after standard training and with reasonable help-deskassistance
- Ability tooperatea computer using a variety of basic applications
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year of clerical/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or background
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES:
- Perform all clerical duties necessary tomaintainaccurateand complete student attendance and other student records within established district guidelines
- Communicate with parents/guardiansregardingstudent attendance issues
- Assiststudents teachers and parents as needed
- Receive incoming calls and take reliable messages as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of information and student records andmaintainloyalty to the district
- Remain informed of andcomply withstate district and school policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Mustdemonstratethe ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Should be able to interpret procedures and analyze data for decision-making. Perform tasks with frequent interruptions;Maintainemotional control under stress; Work to meet established deadlines; Repetitive hand motions; Prolonged use of computer; Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Tools/Equipment Used:Computer printer copier telephone calculator and facsimile
Posture:Prolonged sitting and standing; frequent kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion:Frequent walking; repetitive computer work with frequent use of hands and wrists
Lifting:Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment
Safety:Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training wearing personal protective equipment as required reporting injuries and incidents immediately to the supervisor and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
