We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with experience in Med/Surg Telemetry to join our team. This role requires the ability to handle a variety of patient diagnoses including orthopedics and bariatrics in a telemetry setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality patient care in the Med/Surg and Telemetry units including monitoring patient vital signs and ECG readings.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
Float to other Prisma Health units or campuses as needed to meet census requirements (only float to units qualified for).
Collaborate with physicians nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Document patient care activities assessments and interventions accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans discharge instructions and general health management.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures and provide safe compassionate care to all patients.
Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate to the appropriate team members as necessary.
Assist with patient admissions discharges and transfers.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry. First-time travelers will be considered with at least 3 years of experience in the specialty.
Certifications:
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
EPIC Experience: 1 year of experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records is required.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of patient care in Med/Surg and Telemetry settings.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced high-acuity environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to educate patients and families.
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to handle critical situations effectively.
