The Role

TheCapital Management & Special ProjectsController Groupteam is looking for an innovative forward-thinking detail-orientedanalyst to join their team. TheFixed Asset & Special ProjectFinance Analystis responsible forunderstanding GMs end-to-endfixed assetprocessesincluding operations systemsfinancialsandthe relatedcontrol environment.

The role requiresa high levelofinitiativejudgmentdecision makingandserving as a strategic business partner across the enterprise to bringtimelyand insighted decisions.

What Youll Do

  • Coordinatemonitorandanalyzeresults ofGMs global fixed asset processes

  • Support and collaborate with Global Business Solutions (GBS)fixed asset teamto ensure compliance with APM requirementseffectivecontrolsandaccuratereporting

  • Analysis and reporting of month-endcapital and PP&Ebalances including globalPP&E capitalaccrualsand associated P&L impacts

  • Navigate and understand various systemsimpactingfixed assetsincludingeSAPeTools ITD transformation Global Ledger FINCORE GCARS/OneStreametc.

  • Supportand review the General Motors SpecialtyVehiclesstatutory audit processes collaborating with the Statutory CoE tax andGMsexternalauditors.

  • Utilizenew technologiesand solutions tocreate more robust controlsprocessefficienciesand impactful reporting packages

  • Presentation of financial resultsto other members of the organizationincluding leadership

  • Assistwith special projects and adhocrequests

  • Develop strong relationship withbusiness partnerssupport requests/inquiriesincluding Controllership FinanceITand various other operational partners

  • Maintain controls and work with Financial Assurance andexternal auditorstosupport auditrequirementsstreamline existing businessprocessesand develop new/enhanced control procedures

  • Model GMs desired behaviors including safety

  • Actively promote GMs cultureofinclusion

RequiredQualifications

  • Bachelors Degree inaccounting financebusinessor related field

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) (preferred)

  • Public accounting firm experience (preferred)

  • 2 years of relevant experience(preferred)

  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to understand and apply accounting and financial reporting standards (US GAAP)

  • Ability to prioritize assignments/projects take onadditionalresponsibilitiesand deliver within restricted time constraints

  • Strong interpersonal skills anddemonstratedcommitment to teamwork and partnerships

  • Focus on learning and personal development

  • Ability to embrace and manage change

Desired Qualifications

  • Develop a detailed understanding of GMs processes and systems toidentifycontrol gaps and any opportunities to streamline processes and controls

  • Assistwith internal and external financial reporting includinganalyzingconsolidatedresultsdrafting SEC documents and management review reports

  • Research and interpret new accounting standards and brainstorm how each apply to GM as well ascomply withexternal 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements

  • Support strategic initiatives and transformation activities focused on empowering our all-electric future

  • Develop analytics and tools to provide insights into the results for business units and regions

  • Recommend types of automations analytics and data processing approaches to meet business objectives

  • Initiate and support enhancements that improve the quality and speed of the monthly close process

  • Resolve complex accounting issuesimpactingstrategic business initiatives andidentifypotential accounting risks

  • Complete special assignments outside of core job responsibilities



Location: Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the - Global HQ Warren Mi three times per week at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business
