Join our caring and dedicated team at St John of God Bunbury Hospital as a Casual Grade 1 Dietitian.
In this role you will work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality clinical nutrition and dietetic care to our patients. You will use evidence based practice to assess plan and support the nutritional needs of those in your care while ensuring your work reflects the Dietitians Australia Professional Standards.

The Position
Provide direct nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and/or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and/or outpatients.
Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients
Provide consultation and support to medical nursing catering and allied health professionals within the Division and external agencies as appropriate.
Using nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standard
Document patients medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner.
Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings ward rounds or case conferences as required.
Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the dietetics service and for other caregiver groups within the Division.
Develop and review dietary education resources.
Participate in other hospital activities as assigned.
Supervise instruct and assess dietetic students in approved clinical teaching programs in liaison with the Supervisor/Manager.
Attends relevant training sessions offered by SJGHC. Satisfactory completion of all annual mandatory and unit based competencies as required.
Accepts responsibility for maintaining and strengthening own professional knowledge and expertise. Maintenance of own continuing professional development portfolio as required.
Applicants will hold a tertiary qualification in Dietetics and be eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia including current Accredited Practising Dietitian status. You will have the ability to apply evidence-based practice and sound dietetic knowledge to provide safe and effective care for patients across a range of clinical presentations.
You will also demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Well-developed organisational and time management skills are essential enabling you to manage competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of care.

We can offer you
Salary: $53.91 to $75.82 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
